When life gives you lemons!
All of these sweet little meyer lemons came from my tree. They are teeny tiny but are so flavorful. I had high hopes for turning these little gems into marmalade or preserves. but also that was not the case. We just keep popping them in smoothies or in our drinks.  But really are them up was a super yummy lemon, ginger tonic. My family was down with a mix of low grade fevers, chills and general crud. To ward it all off I mixed up a tonic multiple times a day. It's soothing on the throat and belly and when you add a pinch of cayenne clears you up in a jiff. I mix it all up in my Ninja, making sure to let the boiling water cool to 180°. It will loosen the seal if you don't. TRUST ME. Here's a loose version of what I made. Cheers to health!

2 cups of spring water

1 small piece of ginger root  peeled and roughly chopped

Juice of 1 large lemon

1 tablespoon honey, agave or maple syrup (more or less, I don't judge)

A pinch of salt

Optional: pinch of cayenne for extra heat

Add all ingredients and cooled water to blender, mix well, strain and drink.
